01

Start by telling us how you feel

If you are nervous, have had a difficult experience or have avoided care for a while, you can say so. We can talk through the appointment and discuss available comfort options before treatment.

02

What nitrous oxide does

Nitrous oxide is inhaled through a mask and may help you relax during treatment. It is different from general anesthesia. Your dentist will review your health history and whether it is appropriate for your visit.

03

Confirm the details with your team

Ask which sedation option is being proposed, what preparation is needed and whether you need someone to accompany you. Follow the instructions given for your own appointment.

A few good questions.

Will nitrous oxide put me completely to sleep?

Nitrous oxide is used to help you relax; it is not general anesthesia. Discuss what to expect with your dentist.

Can I request comfort options when scheduling?

Yes. Let Cindy or Shay know you would like to discuss dental anxiety or comfort options privately with the team.

Is this treatment for sleep apnea?

No. Oral appliances for snoring and sleep apnea are a separate service.
